In the fall, the NFL will finally have some official betting partners, namely DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars Entertainment. The deals give these companies access to official league data and allow them to promote their relationship with the league and tie their brands to statistics. The NFL expects to see betting content integrated into the NFL Network broadcasts this fall. But, what if the NFL wants to withdraw from the deal? The NFL can always make an amendment.
In order to get the necessary approval from the NFL, the league has introduced new laws to make sports betting legal in the U.S. The NFL has drafted a set of rules that would ensure that sportsbooks use league data. Ultimately, the league and its owners are the ones who will make the rules that will ensure a fair and legal system for everyone involved. Several states have now legalized sports betting in their states. But the NFL still needs to gain the backing of all 32 owners to pass legislation regulating betting.
