NFL Signs Deals With Leading Sports Betting Operators

NFL fans are about to get a treat. The NFL has signed a multi-year deal with DraftKings, FanDuel and Caesars Entertainment to make the NFL’s games available exclusively to fans through their sports betting sites. The deal allows these companies exclusive access to NFL content, and it paves the way for the integration of betting content into NFL Network broadcasts this fall. In the coming years, NFL teams will be able to use their partnerships to promote their brands and products.

In the fall of 2018, the PGA TOUR signed a three-year deal with betting company bet365. The deal makes bet365 the first official betting operator outside of North America. The company is headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent, UK. The deal allows bettors to place wagers on all tournament events. The company will also offer exclusive odds on leaderboards, player pages, and TOURCast, a live stream of each shot during tournaments. The site will be available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Australia.

The NFL’s ideal sports betting legislation would include meaningful licensing requirements, clear markets and consumer protection. In addition, bets would be settled using league data, and operators would be required to take steps to prevent insider betting. The NFL needed the support of all 32 NFL team owners to enact the legislation. The owners were divided into four groups. All four groups were supportive of the idea. The NFL’s new betting regulations will ensure that consumers get the fair share of the action.
