NFL, PGA TOUR, and Bet365 Sign Official Betting Partnerships

The NFL, one of the biggest sports leagues in the world, has announced a deal with three sportsbooks to be their official betting partners. The deal will give the sportsbooks access to official league statistics and will allow them to promote their relationship with the league. In addition, they will be able to tie their brand to NFL statistics both online and on the air. If the league is unhappy with the partnership, it can opt out after the first two years.

The PGA TOUR has also teamed up with the online betting website bet365 for a three-year marketing deal. As an official betting partner for the series, bet365 will offer exclusive odds on the leaderboards, player pages, and TOURCast, a live webcast that offers 3D renderings of every shot.

Earlier this year, Ohio legalized sports betting. The state legislature passed legislation in November that allowed online and retail sportsbooks to open. BetMGM, Caesars, and FanDuel were among the first sportsbooks to open in the state. Sports betting in Ohio is set to start on Jan. 1, 2023. The state’s gaming regulator has confirmed that the delay will be to ensure the operators are ready and willing to accept the legal bets before the official launch date.

Another example of an official betting agreement is the partnership between the NBA and MGM. During the 2017-2018 season, nine out of 20 English Premier League teams signed a partnership with a gaming entity. In contrast, until recently, gambling companies were barred from sponsoring NBA jerseys.
