MLB Announces Official Betting Partnership With FanDuel

Official betting is the place to find a variety of wager types that are made available at regulated sportsbooks. These wagers are based on the outcome of a game or event, with some bets even combining multiple outcomes into one bet to offer greater payout potential.

In the United States, legalized sports gambling has been on fire since 2018 when the Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA). The sports leagues have largely endorsed the industry, with many teams opening their own sportsbooks at the stadiums where they play.

But there are still 36 states where sports betting remains illegal. And for millions of fans, this means they are unable to place bets on their favorite sports team.

As the sport embraces betting, MLB is working to ensure that all fans who choose to wager have a safe and responsible gaming experience. The league is a partner in the American Gaming Association’s Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly. public service campaign, and it also serves as a platinum member of the National Council on Problem Gambling.

In addition, MLB has partnered with FanDuel Group to become its co-exclusive Official Sports Betting Partner. This multi-year agreement provides FanDuel with the right to use official MLB branding and category designations on its sportsbook, daily fantasy and FanDuel Faceoff platforms and in marketing campaigns. This is the first time that MLB has granted a partnership of this type to an online gaming operator.
