Official betting is a bet placed before the game starts. These bets include moneyline bets, over/under totals and player prop bets. These bets are subject to the same rules as other bets. A team must win by two runs or more to cover a moneyline bet, and extra innings count toward a game’s over/under total.
In addition to ensuring that bets are honored, licensed and regulated gambling sites provide resources for responsible gaming. These can include educational guides, links to support services and tools to self-exclude for a certain period of time. MLB is a proud partner of the American Gaming Association’s Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly campaign.
Alabama: Legal sports betting launched in 2021, although the state only allows a handful of sportsbooks. Alabama does not offer online sports betting and is prohibited from offering bets on in-state collegiate teams.
